Vistamar Cabernet Sauvignon

From Central Valley, Chile, comes a great cabernet called "Vistamar." I had Vistamar on my way from New York to North Carolina. I sat on the plane and thought I would have wine. Then I decided that I would try one of the cabernets. Vistamar comes from the Central Valley in Chile. I asked the air host what wines they serve. "We have a cabernet sauvignon and an sauvignon blanc he said." I said, "I'll try the cabernet sauvignon." "It's $7 please." "I'll give it to you when I get my bag out of the top cabin at the end of the flight. Is that ok?" Dave gave me the Vistamar and I tried it out. Here are my tasting notes: The aromas are earthy, oakly, and vanilla. The taste is that of fine wood and cherries. Overall Rating 7.5/10.

Learn about wine!

Dear friends, Hope this email finds you well. I am writing a wine blog called WineTeaching.BlogSpot.com. It's my initiative to teach about wine to the world. I have already posted 13 posts. I thought a lot about what to do this year and I have decided that wine is a subject I want to explore in greater detail. If you or your friends have some interesting experience with WINE, DO SEND ME THE STORIES AND I WILL POST THEM ON WINETEACHING.BLOGSPOT.COM Why do this? Well, wine is a subject that still needs to be explored, and together we can make wineteaching a big project. I will need all your help so that we can together teach people about wine. I know some of you might be busy in other projects, but if you can spend a few minutes to write a blog post for wineteaching.blogspot.com, then I will be forever greatful to you. Thanks and Best Wishes, Vridhi Tuli

Storing Wine

Wine is not only to be drunk but also to be stored. Storing wine is an art. The best ways to store wine are the following: 1) Store wine in a wine cooler 2) Store wine outside on tables Along with the abovementioned techniques, another great way to store wine is to use corks. You get these amazing wood corks and plastic corks which keep the wine fresh for days at a stretch. Storing wine is something that one has to experiment with. Try using a writing pen or a sketch pen to store wine.

Three Types of Grapes

There are three types of grapes that I am really fond of: Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon is extremely fruity and light. It rings a bell in one's ears of the winds and reminds me of the movie Gone with The Wind. Merlot is sweet and fruity with high acid content Shiraz is a bittersweet grape. If you are interested in taking wine-tasting classes, please email me on vridhi@gmail.com

Seghezio Zinfandel 2007

This is probably one of the best wines I have had till now! Seghesio Zinfandel - http://www.seghesio.com/ is a red zinfandel made out of red grapes. I love to drink this wine. Not that I am too much of a foodie, but wine is something I like to have. A glass of wine a day keeps the rain away! This is a fruity, tangy wine with high acid content. Rating: 8/10.
