A Visit to Argentina | The Mendoza Delight


The Salentein Malbec, which comes from the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, is a full-bodied wine. One of the most interesting aspects of Salentein is that all the wines are 100% varietal. Each wine is either a full-bodied Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Pinot Noir.

There are three key aspects of Salentein’s wine which are interesting to note:

Vistamar Cabernet Sauvignon

From Central Valley, Chile, comes a great cabernet called "Vistamar." I had Vistamar on my way from New York to North Carolina. I sat on the plane and thought I would have wine. Then I decided that I would try one of the cabernets. Vistamar comes from the Central Valley in Chile. I asked the air host what wines they serve. "We have a cabernet sauvignon and an sauvignon blanc he said." I said, "I'll try the cabernet sauvignon." "It's $7 please." "I'll give it to you when I get my bag out of the top cabin at the end of the flight. Is that ok?" Dave gave me the Vistamar and I tried it out. Here are my tasting notes: The aromas are earthy, oakly, and vanilla. The taste is that of fine wood and cherries. Overall Rating 7.5/10.

The Malbec Affair | The Domaine Bousquet

 Of late, I've quite been enjoying trying new red wines, especially full bodied ones. One of the most interesting wines I've tried is called the Bousquet, Malbec. Malbecs are a tad bit different, but my favorite grape. Each Malbec wine is full-bodied and has a wonderful blueberry and oaky taste to it.  I love pairing Malbecs with a great pizza or a penne arrabiatta.  If you'd like to try this wine please review the following notes: The Taste- The Domaine Bousquet has a very fruity and fresh taste to it.
